Tour Blue Betty

We had been weekenders for 10 years before we made the decision to go Fulltime. Every summer, we would take a 6 week trip in our RV. The summer of 2019 was no different, we had an amazing time and dreaded coming back to our house.

As we were loading all of our things we packed from the RV to our house, Kyle turned to me and what he said, I’ll never forget…

“What do you think about selling the house, your business, homeschooling the kids, buying a vintage bus, and traveling the country full time?”

I looked at him in utter disbelief and replied “We can’t do that. You aren’t allowed to do that until you’re older, after the kids are gone. Our life is here, this is what we’re supposed to do.”

We continued to unload the RV and sit in our disappointment of being “home”.

Before we launched, I had my own Pet Styling Spa. When we got back from our summer trip, for about two weeks I was shaving dogs behinds dreaming of being on adventures with my kids. Places like the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and making lifelong memories.

At the end of those two weeks, I came up to Kyle and said “okay. Let’s do it. Let’s build a bus, sell it all, and go Fulltime.”

It took us 3 months of waiting for the right bus to come across our path. In November of 2019 we bought Blue Betty, brought her home, spent 3 months remodeling her, listed our house for sale, and then our adventure began.

Throughout nearly 4 years of living in her, we have remodeled 4 times, lol. The thing about living in the road is you find out what works and what doesn’t. We changed things up when we needed to abs have finally landed on the forever layout.

This is the evolution of our bus, starting with our most recent remodel, down to the beginning.

In June of 2022, we decided to add a VANcation home to our crew and built our Campervan that we drive behind the bus. The VANcation home (La Flama Bodhi) takes us to incredible places the bus would never fit in to. Here’s the tour of our van:
